Rahul Subramanian is a renowned Indian stand-up comedian, writer, improviser, and actor. With his exceptional humor and talent, he has become a popular figure in the comedy industry. Although comedy wasn’t Rahul’s initial passion, he has had a knack for humor since childhood. After completing his education at the Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad, where he pursued an MBA in marketing, he worked as a manager in various corporate companies. One of his notable positions was at Mahindra Rise, a prominent corporate branding and digital marketing firm, where he served as a manager for over three years.
While working at Mahindra Rise, Rahul began exploring his comedic talents by performing live shows and open mic events in 2014. As his talent gained recognition, he started gaining fame in the comedy scene. In 2016, he took a leap of faith, leaving his managerial position at Mahindra Rise to become a full-time stand-up comedian.
Since then, Rahul has been captivating audiences across cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, and Chandigarh with his live performances. He has written numerous comedy sets, many of which have been uploaded to his YouTube channel. His comedic style primarily revolves around observational humor and crowd work.
Rahul, along with his fellow comedian Kumar Varun, runs a popular YouTube channel called “Random Chikibum.” The channel boasts a subscriber count of around 700K and features over 200 videos, accumulating more than 100 million views. The channel’s first-ever video, titled “Kata Sky,” was uploaded in 2015 and featured a comedy sketch performed by Rahul and Kumar Varun. The video, a humorous conversation between a customer and customer service representative, received positive feedback and garnered around six lakh views.
As the channel gained recognition, Rahul started uploading videos more frequently. One of his standout uploads was his first stand-up video titled “India and Pakistan.” In this video, Rahul shared personal funny stories and delivered jokes, which received an overwhelming response and gained around six million views. Rahul’s crowd work video, with 13 million views, became the most popular on his channel, earning him appreciation from fellow comedians and viewers alike.
